History

Logs in fife proprietor C J Douglas’s family have been involved with forestry and timber services since the turn of the 19th century.  It all started with Mr John Birrell of Sinclairtown, Kirkcaldy who worked all over Scotland using Clydesdale horses and Pole Carts.

In 1958 the business moved to Tannerhall, Milnathort where they opened a sawmill, which provided services to the mining and agricultural industries. They continued to utilise horses right up until the 1990’s however by then, as a haulage company, they were hit hard by the demise of the mining industry.

Today CJ Douglas can still be found on Milnathort.  Specialising in wood for burning logsinfife.co.uk can supply quality seasoned firewood logs anywhere in the Kingdom of Fife and surrounding area.
